Disk Separator
Category: Wood
The disc separator is used to remove foreign bodies from wood chips and sawdust . The material to be processed is introduced uniformly across the width of the machine through the feeding hopper. A series of shafts supports some suitable shaped disks placed at given distance, which rotate in the same direction forming a classification plan. The discs make the material move and at the same time they shake it, thus easing the separation process. Some material goes through the free slots (material accepted), and it is therefore separated from the larger material (foreign bodies and oversize) which cannot go through the discs and therefore it is forwarded until it is downloaded at the end of the classification plan.
